Sims Files Lawsuit Over Eyman Initiative's Title
The PI reports that two private citizens -- one of whom, Ron Sims, has a day job as King County executive -- have filed court challenges to the ballot title of anti-tax initiative promoter Tim Eyman's proposed initiative to expand gambling. Sims is also running for governor.
Both petitions say the I-885 ballot title, drafted by the state attorney general, Christine Gregoire, another gubernatorial candidate, fails to make clear that the measure would greatly expand the use of slot machine-type devices.
