Well, it looks like things could get even more interesting in the race for the WA-8 U.S. House seat. The poll that state Dems put in the field indicates that Ross has strong enough name recognition and favorable ratings to jump into the race. Here is the salient 'graph from the Times article:
"The poll showed the host of a longtime midmorning show on KIRO-AM (710) had name recognition higher than 80 percent of the 600 people polled, with a favorable rating of roughly 45 percent, Ross said. The overall recognition is comparable to that of King County Sheriff Dave Reichert, considered one of the leading contenders for the Republican nomination. Reichert, however, has a favorable rating of around 60 percent, Ross said."

Being a long-time supporter of Heidi Behrens-Benedict, I found it rather discouraging that Paul Berendt would consider asking yet another person to enter this vitally important race. I ask the same question of Dave Ross that I ask of Alex Alben. Where have you been for the past 6 years as Heidi has stood alone to challenge Jennifer Dunn and the right wing of the republican party?
Are we really that afraid today to stand up for the values that have long defined the Democratic Party? If we really want to "take our country back", are we going to do it by sending people to congress who have never taken a stand in support of those values? Here we are on yet another battlefield in the war for the heart and soul of our party. I am proud to carry Heidi's flag.
